Painter and scenographer. She graduated from the Faculties of Painting, specializing in animated film, and Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She works across painting, installation, and theatre, creating works on canvas, wood, and concrete, as well as site-specific installations. As a scenographer, she has designed sets for productions at Warsaw’s Nowy Teatr and Teatr Studio.
Until 2018, her painting focused primarily on architectural space. In the Structures series, she created large-format paintings of empty, luminous interiors, while Concrete Works explored the relationship between image and material through paintings on handmade concrete slabs. Between 2013 and 2016, she developed Crystals, a series of large-format works using crystallizing paint, in which the material itself participates in the formation of the image.
From 2018 onward, her practice shifted towards highly distilled figurative painting on black canvases. Drawing on a technique reminiscent of Zen calligraphy, her images are constructed through a small number of precisely controlled brushstrokes, requiring intense concentration and leaving little room for error. This approach has resulted in the series Animals (2018–2021), Sirens (2020–present), three works from which are held in the collection of the Museum of Warsaw, and Between Pain and Pleasure, exploring women’s everyday struggles and emotional experiences.
She is also developing Paesina, a series of large-format paintings made with crystallizing paint. Initially allowed to spread unpredictably across the canvas, the material forms dreamlike, landscape-like structures that the artist subsequently transforms and brings into dialogue with her own intervention.
